I am looking for a watch preferably under $50. It doesn’t have to track my distance or pace or heart, I just need on that can have a total time and a lap time and that is good looking. Also I would like a watch that can give an alarm or something off after a certain amount of time. Any recommendations? I was looking at some Asics, Adidas, Nike, and Timex watches, but any specific watches you recommend? I want just a watch with no heart rate monitors or little things you put in your shoe!

Okay, so what I’m looking for is a heart rate monitor that sits on your wrist like a watch. I need it to actively show me my heart rate (accurately) and have a battery that I can change out. Price range ~$50 and the hope that it will not die like many reviews I have read about the $30 Walmart monitors.
Thanks!!

i might also use it for swimming but mainly for running, and are there any ones that are rechargeable. nothing to expensive, unless its completely worth it.

My friend is not happy with his current heart rate monitor and he was thinking about buying a new one that is more accurate. As his birthday is coming up I want to buy him one. I am going to buy it from a shop where he can change it if he is not happy with it but I would wish to find a really good one so he could keep the one I will give him.
Has anyone used a heart rate monitor watch that was reliable. I need to buy one for a present but I don’t know much about the subject.
P.S. He uses it for running training.

i have seen the polar f4 and f6 wrist watches on-line. it comes with a chest strap. do you need to wear the strap permanently to obtain heart rate readings? i know other watches don’t require this but sacrifice accuracy as a result.
i’ve also seen the jml watch. it looks ok too and is cheaper
any recommendations?
